| Commitment to Resource Limited Countries The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) form a blueprint agreed to by all the world’s countries and the entire world’s leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the worlds poorest. – which include but not limited to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases, improving maternal health developing a global partnership for development by 2015.
However, meeting these goals will also require unprecedented efforts to improve health systems in developing countries. Accurate clinical test results constitute a corner stone to combating diseases; therefore, strengthening health system capacity to meet the MDG goals will require that laboratory systems that are critical for diagnosis, screening, surveillance, prevention, and treatment are equally enhanced. An effective laboratory system strengthening effort will include but not limited to well–trained workforce, laboratory safety, equipment maintenance, laboratory quality management systems, laboratory policy, and pre and post serves training. A Global Healthcare Public Foundation therefore, has committed itself to working with resource-limited countries to develop sustainable laboratory capacity as part of the overall efforts to strengthen health systems. Our focus includes: Continues Quality Improvement (CQI) System We provide extensive training in CQI Systems including providing technical assistance in accreditation of laboratories to meet international standards (CLIA, CAP, ISO 15189), quality assurance, and good clinical laboratory practice.
